Gourds are a long process. What is planted this spring, will be harvest after a hard frost and then the gourds will have to dry. The drying process will take until next May. It is at this time that we can begin creating our items. We will start by washing them, then sorting by the shape and size to decide what they will become. Because of Mother Nature and the growing process you will never get two gourds alike. Each products is a "one of kind ". They take on their on personality, this is what is so unquie about gourds and the art of creating them.
I have been crafting gourds for about 10 years now and my husband Ed joined me 3 years ago. He has been a great addtion! While he does all the cutting and cleaning of the gourds, I take care of the painting. Each of our gourds are created by the two of us and are hand made and painted. Their hats, scarfs, ribbons, and bows are individually tied and sewn. We take great joy in creating our gourds and hope to fill your home or the home of a special someone's home with all the joys of the holiday seasons.
Sincerly,
Out Of Our Gourd
